How this calculator works
- These rates apply to individuals whose salary makes up more than 75% of their taxable income. If most of your income comes from business, property or other sources, different rates apply.
- Enter your taxable salary: total pay less any amounts that are exempt from tax. If you are unsure which allowances are exempt, ask us.
- The 9% surcharge on salary income above Rs 10 million was withdrawn from 1 July 2026, so it is not included.
- The result is an estimate before tax credits, deductions and any adjustment for tax already withheld. Your final liability is worked out in your annual return.
